As of recent UAE regulations (subject to change):
Tourist/visit visa: AED 50 per day after the grace period.
Residency visa: AED 50 per day, plus service and exit fees.
You may also need to pay typing and clearance fees at immigration before leaving the country.
Repeated overstays can lead to entry bans or visa rejections in the future.
Some visas (especially residency visas) include a grace period of 30 days after expiry to renew or exit.
Tourist visas usually have no grace period unless specified by your sponsor or visa type.
“Absconding” means leaving your job or failing to report to your sponsor without permission while under a UAE visa.
Employers or sponsors can file an absconding report with immigration.
Consequences include:
Visa cancellation and ban from entering the UAE (usually 1 year).
Blacklisting, preventing future visa applications.
Possible detention and deportation if caught.
To clear an absconding case, the sponsor must withdraw the report or it must be resolved through UAE immigration or the Ministry of Labour.
Always exit or renew your visa before expiry.
If you face absconding charges, contact your sponsor, PRO, or immigration authorities immediately to resolve the issue legally.
